While the Ontario M.N.R. and Quebec’s ZEC authorities exhibit their very best efforts to take care of these
national treasures, they often lack sufficient resources to keep the rivers pristine and safe.

 |
-
Repairs and maintenance of access roads on the Madawaska River (Buck Bay and Aumond’s Bay)
-
Regular removal of garbage
-
Cleaning, repairing and replacing outhouses and thunderboxes on campsites General campsite and portage trail maintenance.
-
Removal of life-threatening debris on moving water (strainers and other debris caused by spring floods and severe thunderstorms)
The photos you see are of Boundless staff and volunteers doing their bit, often on extremely remote sections of the rivers. We dedicate hundreds of hours annually to these efforts.

Buck Bay Access Road (Madawaska River) is in terrible shape. With sufficient cash donations, we are going to hire crews and machines to smooth out this road, and then ensure that this work is maintained from year to year
-
We’ll hire crews and machines to grade Aumond’s Bay Road every year (major work was performed by the M.N.R. in Fall of 2006 on Aumond’s Bay Road – we want to ensure that the road stays in great shape)
-
Replacement of outhouses and thunderboxes in remote sections of the Dumoine, and on the Lower Madawaska (Aumond to Buck Bay)
-
Regular garbage removal, campsite and portage trail maintenance from May-September on both rivers
-
Removal of debris each spring and in the wake of severe thunderstorms
