PARENT QUOTES - SUMMER 2011
(My daughter) attended Boundless last summer and came back a new person, full of hope, full of confidence with a new outlook on life. She was always quiet but was determined to go to Boundless.
(My daughter) fit in at Boundless. She was respected, people understood her, and people valued her. Thank you for all that you do.
We have had quite a year with our son from an emotional perspective and it is heartening to know that he is growing mentally and physically and the role that Boundless has played has been immense.
Just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you to you and the “crew” for taking such great care of our boy. He had an amazing time and he looks fantastic. I believe “awesome” was the word of choice when asked how his trip was!
I have been meaning to send you a note of thanks for our son’s transformational experience at Boundless this summer. He has not stopped talking to us and his friends about his experiences and friends. He's so proud of what he achieved. He was particularly impacted by this last session where it truly connected how he could have such an impact on others. This isn't something he takes lightly now. Thanks again for taking him in and making him part of the Boundless family.
L. had a lovely time and I think got a lot from the experience. As you have stated we get titbits of the fun he had in the most unusual of times as he remembers.
K. told us it was the hardest thing she had ever done and the best thing she had ever done! She came away with a good feeling and I know she will return to Boundless.
Thank you for offering such a great program it truly is an experience she will remember for the rest of her life.
E. arrived home safe and happy. She loved every minute of Boundless and was extremely sad that it had to end. She kept saying she wanted to be back there. We have heard lots about her adventures and how much fun they had (oh and how much they learned too!) She says she feels so much more confident handling different situations with different types of people. I cannot get over how well she seems to have adapted to the environment, how much she got out of it and how close she feels to the friends she made.
Many thanks for helping give him such a fabulous last two weeks of summer and thanks to the teachers and staff who, from what he says, were wonderful. Also thanks for the updates, they sure helped a lot to get a sense of how things were going with the groups, and what they were doing.
His experience was an overwhelmingly positive one! He found the work/activities challenging but nothing he couldn't handle. He loved the staff, especially his group leader. He formed some good friendships with other kids and he gained new respect for cooperative work.
…best of all, he developed a level of self-esteem I have never seen in him before.
In a testament to the emotional investment the Boundless staff make in the kids, I can tell you that J. was so deeply connected to his Boundless community that he was grief-stricken when he was forced to part with it. (I see that as a good thing!)
Just wanted you to know that G. really enjoyed his 2 weeks with Boundless. Every now and then he comes up with a new story about some of the fun they had. I wish I could go – sounds like a blast. Thanks for giving him this experience. I think it was really good for his confidence.
I cannot tell you how much she loved the camp. She has not stopped talking about it since she got home. She definitely wants to be back there next year and do it all again.
From food prep to wrapping the canoe, I think we have heard almost all the details. She was bouncing off the walls talking about it.
W. just completed a two week course at Boundless. He is not the chattiest person at the best of times, as he is an introvert by nature. When I picked him up last Friday …. and we arrived at the house, he quickly told me not to worry, but he would empty the car. I mentioned that I would like to do laundry before leaving for the cottage. Again, he told me not to worry, but that he would do all the laundry.
He told me that the (Boundless) staff there was the absolute best he had ever encountered. He even said he would consider returning if for nothing but the staff. He played the wake up music for us, with a huge grin on his face.
To all of the staff who oversaw the kids… a huge thanks. My son is NEVER one to embellish and he spoke so highly of everyone.
Let me start by telling you that his first words to me were, “that was so much fun!” Followed very quickly by him stating that he would like to return next year for the 4 credit program. He loved every minute of it and I did not hear a word about chores or credits for school. I did hear a great deal about “surfing” the rapids. If you can imagine, he actually apologized to me for giving me such a hard time about going. So, it does not get much better than that.
Awesome, tough, exhausting, amazing, new friends, fun, best time ever, great people”, are only some of the descriptive words that came out of (my son's) mouth on the trip home and over the past few weeks as he recuperates from his best ever amazing summer experience.
Your radio ads are true. You did send me home a new kid. Not that there was much wrong with the one I sent you, but the one you returned to me was the most animated, proud, and fully alive as I have ever seen him in 18 years.
(I am) amazed at the growth he has gone through from this great experience.
I guess the most meaningful (praise to Boundless) was, "Mom, when I have kids they're all going to Boundless."

My favourite thing from the whole trip was working together as a group and meeting all of the kids, and hanging out with people who I normally wouldn't give a chance to at school. All of the other things we did like the rapids and high falls were my favourite too but that one shined more over all of them because it’s cool to meet kids you wouldn't normally hangout with.
