grades 9 and 10 outdoor education
This course is open to students in grades 9 and 10, and to those students graduating grade 8 in June.
Grade 10 Healthy Active Living Education – Outdoor Activities (PAD20)
Choose from one of the following sessions:
June 27 – July 9
July 11 – July 23
July 29 – August 10
August 17 – August 29
This course challenges and inspires students through various outdoor adventure pursuits that promote lifelong healthy and active living.
Students will learn and refine skills in flat water and white water paddling; push their personal limits while rock-climbing and negotiating a high ropes course; compete in an adventure race; learn to live comfortably in the wilderness and thrive on team challenges. Students shall also participate in various group initiatives designed to develop leadership and social skills and to hone students’ abilities in decision-making and conflict resolution. Students will also learn about life-long healthy living strategies through lively discussions and a unique experiential approach. The course will culminate with a 5-7 day white water expedition on one of Eastern Canada’s great rivers.
This course is a full credit, 110-hour course based on Ministry of Education curriculum. Think of a semester in just 13 days! We consistently have long, fun and exhausting days that involve individual and cooperative work, assessment and evaluation.

Admission to Students who have not yet entered grade 9 is possible and occurs frequently.
